Before We Begin...

The Crew

What you need:

  • New sink (if applicable) and a template for under-mount sinks
  • All fixtures, including soap dispensers and air gap.
  • All appliances need to be on site. Especially the fridge and stove, either drop in or range.
  • If your job involves demolition of existing counters, please remove everything from the tops of your counters and from under your sink. If your demolition is tile, we recommend clearing out all of your lower cabinets, as the demolition debris will make a mess inside your cabinets.

Plumbing:

We will disconnect your plumbing for the demo, but for liability reasons we cannot reconnect your new plumbing since we are not licensed plumbers. We would be happy to recommend a good plumber if you need...

Caring for your stone:

Video: How To Clean a Granite Countertop | eHow.com

Granite is a beautiful stone that has formed naturally over millions of years. It is very dense and has inherent scratch, stain, and heat resistant properties making it a perfect choice for countertops. With a little maintenance your new counters should last forever! Be careful to wipe up spills and messes immediately. Stay away from abrasive powders and any cleaners that have ammonia or bleach, as they can eventually wear away the sealer and possibly etch the glossy finish. For daily cleaning we recommend a mild soap and water solution, or commercial granite cleaners that can be found at many places including HomeDepot and Lowes. There is also a product we recommend at HomeDepot called GelGloss (usually in the kitchen section) that contains cleaners and wax. After cleaning with soap and water, spray the gel gloss on your counters and buff out with a paper towel. This will really bring out the shine in your granite! GelGloss can be used daily. Granite Impressions staff will chemically seal your granite before we leave, which will help to protect against stains. Re-sealing should be done about once a year. Sealing your granite is a very simple process and our installers will be happy to show you how.
